Deep Tissue Massage
What is a Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage is similar to a Swedish massage because it aims to treat the body as a whole rather than focusing on very specific muscles. Deep tissue massage however works deeper with firmer pressure into the muscle tissue to help ease aches and pains in general.
- Helps ease muscle tension
- Offers stress relief
- Helps to improve circulation therefore promoting healing in the areas treated
- Helps to ease general aches and pains
Deep tissue massage involves the use of oils on the skin with various massage strokes which relieve tension and warm up muscle tissue. The pressure is firm and the massage is deep in order to remove adhesions in the muscle and to help promote healthy tissue. As with all of our massage therapy, the deep tissue massage is tailored to suit your individual wants and needs. This means you can ask your massage therapist to focus on working deeply into your back, shoulders or legs, or you can ask for a general whole body treatment.
